Oh, Ramona! – Storyline/Plot:
A teenager named Andrei transitions from a teenager into an adult. Oh, Ramona! follows the main character Andrei from his point of view while he steps into adulthood and deals with romance. Andrei has a crush on the “hottest girl in school”, Ramona. Later on, another girl Andrei meets on a vacation, Anemona, is charmed by his sincerity and dorkiness and he ends up being torn between the two girls he loves. To be able to choose, Andrei has to introspect his life.

I really liked the premise, I was hoping for at least a mediocre movie, just to relax and maybe be given hope that life is not awful. But the execution was a mess. The characters are walking stereotypes, they do not have personality. I really liked one character but he only gets screen time in the beginning. Most of the jokes fall flat, either because they were blatantly ripping off another movie, or are just bad. The emotional moments are not powerful because of a lack of build-up and lack of deepness of character. There is minor or no character development.
The main character’s actions and decisions do not make sense most of the time. They do not show, they just tell, which further removes any importance of key moments and any connections we would have with the main character or any other characters. I really missed a shot there. It could be a great movie, but they did what they did. I’m sad and I cannot even talk about the ending because I did not have the stomach to finish the movie at the time, I’m writing this.
