See for Me 2021 Movie – Storyline:
When blind former skier Sophie cat-sits in a secluded mansion, three thieves invade for the hidden safe. Sophie’s only defence is army veteran Kelly. Kelly helps Sophie defend herself against the invaders to survive.
It stars Skyler Davenport as Sophie, a visually impaired teenager who is housesitting for a wealthy client when three criminals break into the house to rob it; Sophie’s only defence is a smartphone app called See for Me which connects her to Kelly (Jessica Parker Kennedy), a gamer who has to use the app to see Sophie’s surroundings and guide her actions.
Review of See for Me (2021 Movie):
It’s true that Sophie is an unlikeable person, treating people with disrespect and even stealing from her job, but in the long run, I still rooted for her to win and I was impressed with her skills. The only way Sophie is able to get around when the break-in is happening is via an app just as the name of the film suggests. Kelly becomes a friend through this and I liked her character. Not many others to note that were good. The thieves were ok but I wish we got to see more of the cat. Altogether a solid plot that unfolds like others in the category but it’s better than half of them.
Former competitive skier Sophie (Skyler Davenport) lost her eyesight. Despite her mother’s fears, she is desperate to regain her independence. She answers an ad to be a cat-sitter at an isolated mansion in the woods. When she gets locked out, she calls the computer app “See for Me” to talk to helper Kelly (Jessica Parker Kennedy). Thieves break in looking for a hidden loot in the safe.
There are a couple of things about blind people that are somewhat different. There is excessive shooting and the last section is a bit too dark to see. The shooting is a little interesting when it parallels the video game. I do have some questions about the plot like why the robbers need to drill into the safe. The main reason is probably the need for noise. This is an interesting thriller with a few minor issues.
