Lord of Shanghai Movie – Storyline :
The story about in the early 20th century. Cassia becomes the favorite of the triad Lord of Hong Men, Chang Lixiong – the Lord of Shanghai. Leaving a gathering with Huang Peiyu, Leader of the Chinese Revolutionary League, Lord Chang is killed and Cassia is left alone and helpless.
After years of hardship, Cassia returns to Shanghai to scrape along with add an area opera troupe. Under the patronage of the second generation triad Lord, Huang Peiyu, she rises to stardom within the Shanghai Opera.
Lord of Shanghai Full Movie Review:
The screenplay rushes through events, twists, and turns, never letting moments sink in, always wanting to get to subsequent confrontation or assassination or kidnapping. Editing is usually awkward, especially within the short action scenes peppered throughout; a potentially exciting – though oddly wire-heavy – alley showdown between rival bosses is moving incoherent shreds.
Li Meng and Yu Nan deftly share a personality. Nevertheless seems like it’ll only inherit their own within the second installment. Rocked back and forth by events instead of being a driver behind them. Formed bent be within the official synopses.
