Katie is trying to make it in the cutthroat world of modeling. When she innocently accepts an offer to have new photos taken for her portfolio, the experience quickly turns into an unthinkable nightmare of rape, torture, and kidnapping. When a twist of fate finally frees her from her captors – beaten, battered, bruised, and broken, she will have to tap into the darkest places of the human psyche to not only survive her ordeal but ultimately find the strength to exact her brutal revenge.

If the horror genre taught us just one thing since the year 2000, it must be that all East-European countries are underdeveloped and disgusting, and the local inhabitants all are sick and perverted maniacs with a fetish for torture and amateur surgery! In most films, notably the “Hostel” movies, dim-witted and hormone-driven American tourists are crazy enough to go around road tripping in these vile countries themselves, but in ISOYG2 a bunch of Slavic pigs abduct their victim in New York and bring her back to a Bulgarian hell hole.
The young aspiring model Katie makes the mistake of her life when she reacts to an advert to get a free portfolio, as she ends up in a grisly studio run by three Bulgarian brothers that immediately suggest including nude pictures. One of them comes to Katie’s apartment at night and savagely rapes her. Afterward, he calls his brothers, and, when Katie next wakes up, she finds herself fully naked and chained in a filthy basement where physical abuse and humiliation continue.
She manages to escape once but painfully learns that she’s in a strange country where nobody understands or helps her. Katie’s outbreak sadly doesn’t end the agony – quite the contrary, in fact – but her hatred and hunger for vengeance increase with every ache she suffers. It’s always difficult to review movies like “I Spit on Your Grave 2”, the so-called Rape & Revenge subcategory of exploitation cinema. Nobody enjoys this kind of movie (and if you do, you have serious issues and ought to see a shrink) but true horror fanatics appreciate them because – when professionally directed and executed – they are the rawest and most shocking films imaginable. ISOYG2 is the sequel to a remake of a notorious late ’70s ’70s video nasty.
