Jolt (2021) – Storyline/Plot:
A bouncer with a slightly murderous anger-management problem that she controls with the help of an electrode-lined vest she uses to shock herself back to normalcy whenever she gets homicidal. After the first guy she’s ever fallen for is murdered, she goes on a revenge-fueled rampage to find the killer while the cops pursue her as their chief suspect.
Review of Jolt (2021 Film):
Feminist movie with a woman going around beating up people. Is this supposed to be making up for years of seeing men do it, which some “kinda” do in real life, but I have yet to see women in real life do it and it included her beating up professional male fighters twice her size?
The writing was just God awful and everything looked like they shot it on a sound stage. How many times did we need to see the same 3 streets over and over again? It was almost like they used the set from Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shot. No, nothing was believable that it was shot in the US. You can fake Bulgaria as the United States.
And a black trans cop that we are supposed to pretend is a woman? When was the last time you saw cops like that anywhere on planet Earth? God, please make it stop.
Before the review trolls start posting their fake 8s and 10s about this film, let me be the first to say this was just Amazon original popcorn and nothing at all to write home about. It’s an ok one-time watch-action flick with Kate Beckinsale, Stanley Tucci, and of course the LGBT agenda being pushed with the African-American trans-co-star. The revenge story premise was nonsensical but I always enjoy the Underworld wit and fighting style that Kate delivers in these types of roles she plays. Watch once and call it a day. The stupid repartee dialogue was painful to listen to. I don’t there was one original idea in this.
