Hugas (2022) – Storyline/Plot:

This is Aj Raval and Sean De Guzman’s third film together and you can already see the improvement from them here in Hugas…. Siguro kasi lagi na silang magkatrabaho and sabi nga nila wala na silang ilang na nararamdaman kapag magkasama silang dalawa. Marami pang mapipiga dito sa dalawa and they will continue to improve and be better in their upcoming projects.

Director Roman Perez Jr. continues to pull off more surprises from his bag of tricks and made sure that you’ll enjoy not only the sexy scenes but the entire film as well. Linis ng mga eksena and kagaya ng dati naenjoy ko yung mix ng music na pampahype ng vibe.

May MGA questionable scenes Na Hindi ko Na lang spoil Pero overall the film was entertaining as it is. Busog pa din Ang Mata at gising Ang Diwa Niyo Sa Mga Eksena as the stars here go all-out with AJ, Cara, Stephanie and Deberly made sure that your eyes won’t leave empty-handed. Solid din Yung supporting stars with Bob Jbeili, Soliman Cruz, and Benson Dalina on the sideline.

For the action scenes, medjo bitin given naman since nasa lock-in taping pa. More duel sana between Jay Manalo and Joko diaz parang blast from the past pero nagampanan naman nila kung ano ang hinihingi ng pelikula from them. You can never go wrong when you have these two veteran stars on your roster. #Vivamax

Review of Hugas (2022 Film):

This takes the cake for being stupid. There’s one particular scene in the movie where the gang goes on a bank heist and you know what happens? In the middle of the robbery, Sean de Guzman and Stephanie Raz who plays a bank teller have sex. This is the kind of sex-driven drivel that VivaMax dares to produce and pump out nowadays.

There’s no story, there’s no character development, nothing in this film that really makes an effort to be entertaining other than having that occasional sex scene. It’s too much that it’s not even sexy anymore – it’s disgusting. Worse, outside Jay Manalo, there’s no one in this film that really came off as a great actor.

AJ Raval and Sean de Guzman came off as awkward and wooden as crooks and we’re definitely seeing Raval, in particular, showing the “limitations” of her acting chops. The only good thing that we really saw in the film was Roman Perez Jr.’s colorful and vibrant cinematography. The director was able to not only make this film’s visuals pop but he also employed some creative shots that we didn’t expect.

But we digress, we really cannot rate a film on visuals (cinematography or flesh) alone and “Hugas” has only visuals on its sleeve. The film dares talk about politicians stealing while it’s obvious who is doing a highway robbery of the local film industry and the hard-earned cash of viewers nowadays.
