Home Team 2022 Movie – Storyline:
Three years after the New Orleans Saints win Super Bowl XLIV, head coach Sean Payton is suspended from the NFL for one year, due to his involvement in the Bountygate scandal. He returns to his hometown and reconnects with his 12-year-old son by coaching his Pop Warner football team.
Follows Payton who, two years after a Super Bowl win when he is suspended, goes back to his hometown and finds himself reconnecting with his 12-year-old son by coaching his Pop Warner football team. Payton was suspended in 2012 for his role in the team’s Bountygate scandal where bounties were allegedly being paid to players who would try to injure players from the opposing team.
Review of Home Team 2022 Netflix Movie:
Pictures like Home Team don’t indeed ask a lot of James. His take on Sean Payton is to play straight man to a multifariousness of predictably idiotic side characters, from Rob Schneider’s Zen-suchlike peacenik who married Payton’sex-wife (Jackie Sandler, Adam’s woman), to the oblivious clerk at Payton’s hostel, who’s unfit to do anything right. Bored with the lack of openings presented by playing Payton, James also wears a bushy mustache and a large cap to play an accident-prone adjunct trainer who needs to ride a bike every place because he lost his motorist’s license due to drunk driving.
None of this, as you can imagine, is funny – and every aspect of the football plotline in Home Team is as predictable and lazy as you sweat, from the fat sprat ordering pizzas to the locker room to the handsome youthful trainer (Lautner) who doesn’t understand the game. Really, however, it’s disappointing seeing Kevin James design this. Unlike, say, Schneider, who only seems to work when Sandler beckons, James seems like he could exceed in superior places. To be fair, he has been taking chances on suspensers like Becky or Little Boy once many times. But tête-à-tête, I’d love to see him take further of them and pass on these actually easy Happy Madison stipend gigs.
